TVOT Montreal 2026 – Unlocking hidden revenue: advanced monetization strategies for FAST channels
Uncover how platforms are driving higher CPMs, creating valuable new inventory and unlocking hidden revenue in FAST, presented at TVOT Montreal 2026.
At this year’s Mondial de l’Auto in Paris, amidst a multitude of global automakers, the dominance of Chinese and German manufacturers was undeniable. But beyond the impressive sheet metal and EV range statistics, a new battleground for consumer loyalty was on full display: the in-cabin user experience.
For automakers looking to differentiate their vehicles in a crowded market, the Paris Motor Show offered a clear takeaway. If you build the right digital product and prioritize the passenger experience, the buyers will come. Nowhere was this more evident than at the BYD kiosk, where Stingray was proud to guest star and showcase the future of in-car entertainment.
Stingray and BYD share a long-standing relationship that dates back to the initial launch of our Stingray Karaoke product in their vehicles in 2022. For OEMs, the true value of a software partner lies not just in the initial launch, but in the ability to continuously innovate.
Since that first deployment, our collaboration with BYD has rapidly evolved. We have jointly developed a seamless hardware-software microphone solution utilizing Singing Machine technology, perfected a gamified scoring offering to drive passenger engagement, and built a comprehensive, grey-label audio product. Showcasing this evolution in the BYD vehicles at the Mondial de Paris was the culmination of years of shared vision.
That shared vision was crystallized during a pivotal meeting in April 2024. Sitting down with BYD executives Stella Li (Executive Vice President) and Jose Miranda (Chief Marketing Officer) at a Manhattan restaurant overlooking Central Park, the conversation centered on the strategic power of the dashboard.
BYD had long envisioned how each vehicle’s infotainment offering must speak directly to its intended audience. They had clearly mapped out how a bespoke audio experience could help define their luxury brands—such as Denza, which was on the brink of its successful European launch. They understood exactly what products and functions should be geared toward specific demographics, like the busy career woman balancing work and family. Since that sit-down, BYD’s philosophy has been extremely clear: the user experience is the ultimate focal point.
To demonstrate this leadership in Paris, BYD created two distinct kiosks: one dedicated to the luxury Denza line, and another showcasing the Atto vehicles, where software partners animated the infotainment systems across six display cars.
Stingray collaborated with BYD to highlight the Stingray Karaoke experience inside the Atto 3. To bring the product to life, we invited French-born singer Meli Jane to perform tracks from our massive, fully licensed catalog of over 100,000 songs.
The attendee reaction was immediate and overwhelmingly positive. Visitors were surprised by the seamless ability to browse song selections in multiple languages—a crucial feature for global OEMs. They were amused by the dynamic background images that came to life to match their song choices. Most importantly, attendees sang a little louder when they realized our in-car microphone integration allowed for professional-grade voice projection, and they felt emboldened to turn off the lead vocals whenever their inner star came out.

For automakers observing the crowds at the BYD booth, the takeaway was clear: interactive media is not a gimmick; it is a powerful utility.
The choice to integrate a robust karaoke app into the infotainment system fundamentally changes the relationship between the driver, the passengers, and the vehicle. It is a tool designed to help every parent make long road trips, daily commutes, and sports carpools a little easier and a lot more fun. It is an icebreaker for friends, and a joyful escape for a couple celebrating an anniversary on a weekend drive.
By transforming the vehicle from a simple mode of transportation into a destination for shared entertainment, OEMs can build lasting, daily engagement with their customers. As the Mondial de l’Auto proved, the future of driving is interactive, and Stingray is ready to help automakers build it.
