The holiday season is a time for giving, and this year, Toronto’s boom 97.3 has once again demonstrated the power of community spirit through its annual fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Canada. Over the past three years, this cherished tradition has raised an impressive $1.5 million, and this year, the generosity of listeners and clients has reached unprecedented levels.
The final day of the Stu Jeffries $1000 Make-A-Wish Minute was filled with excitement and anticipation. The team had already achieved their ambitious goal of $500,000, thanks to the overwhelming support from the community. Challenges from Sony and LiUNA Local 183 were swiftly met, propelling the total to $590,000 and surpassing last year’s record by $30,000.
However, the true highlight of the day came when Eric Boyko, CEO and “Chief Energizing Officer” of Stingray, made an unexpected call to Stu Jeffries. In a moment that left everyone speechless, Boyko announced an extraordinary $50,000 donation to Make-A-Wish Canada. This generous contribution pushed the total to a record-breaking $651,674, setting a new milestone for the fundraiser.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, from dedicated listeners and clients to the passionate team at Make-A-Wish Canada. Over the past decade, this annual event has now raised over $3 million, bringing hope and joy to countless children and families across Canada.
A heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who contributed to this year’s campaign. Your support has made a significant impact, and the team couldn’t be prouder of what has been accomplished together. Here’s to another successful year of making wishes come true!
