Stingray Launches Rewind in the Maritimes

FacebookTwitterEmailShare

February 5, 2021 – On Friday, February 12th, Stingray Radio is launching its Classic Hits brand Rewind in three Maritime markets.

In addition to rebranding the popular Classic Hits station Up! 93.1 (CIHI) in Fredericton as Rewind 93.1, the format and brand will appear in Miramichi as Rewind 95.9 (CHHI, currently 95.9 Sun FM) and in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley as Rewind 89.3 (CIJK, currently 89.3 K-Rock).

Each station’s local personalities remain, with the popular Wake Up show with Dave anchoring the morning slot in Fredericton, Mornings with Darcey kicking off the day in Miramichi, and heritage personality Darrin Harvey continuing to helm mornings in the Valley.

The songs that make up the majority of the Rewind playlist are the songs we all know and love, with a strong focus on greatest hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Stingray’s Rewind brand is already #1 in Sudbury, and the music format is a proven ratings success in Fredericton under the Up! Banner and in Toronto as boom 97.3.

“Bringing Rewind to the Maritimes will enable these radio stations to continue connecting with their local listeners in a meaningful way, while adding even more fun and familiarity to their listening experience,” says Ken Geddes, Director of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Operations. “We are very excited to bring the popular Rewind brand into these three fantastic Maritime communities.”

Rewind will be available for live streaming at  www.rewind931.ca, www.rewind959.ca and www.rewind893.ca., on the Stingray Music mobile app, and on the Radio Player Canada app featuring over 500 of Canada’s leading radio stations.

Rewind launches at 12am on Friday, February 12th.
