Montreal, May 4, 2020 – For Earth Day’s 50th anniversary on April 22, 2020, Stingray (TSX: RAY. A; RAY. B.), a leading music, media, and technology company partnered with One Tree Planted, a U.S.-based environmental non-profit that plants a tree for every dollar donated. Stingray is happy to help the world breathe a little easier through this green initiative.
With the support of some American distribution partners, Stingray has committed to planting one tree for every hour of Stingray Naturescape streamed on Earth Day 2020 (April 22). This initiative will add 19,894 trees to One Tree Planted’s reforestation efforts, which will directly impact community empowerment and local agroforestry projects. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
Stingray Naturescape (previously branded as Stingray Ambiance) features spectacular, relaxing scenery from around the world, including majestic forests and woodlands. Stingray invites all viewers with access to the Stingray Naturescape free, ad-supported channel to tune in for at least one hour on Earth Day.
